Films for assaying protease activity which are crosslinked and/or substantially water-insoluble films formed on the surface of a support and contain one or more substances selected from the group consisting of transferrin derivatives and albumin derivatives. By using these films, protease activities originating in specific proteases (matrix metalloprotease 7, etc.) can be selectively assayed.
