A film (I) comprising a support layer (1) and an adhesion coating (2) of plasticized PVC is characterized in that the adhesion coating (2) is adhesive free, the support layer has a thickness of 10-80 mu m and has a m.pt. of at least 100 [deg]C and the thickness of the laminated film comprising support layer (1) and adhesion coating (2) is no greater than 280 microns. An independent claim in included for a process for the preparation of the film (I) by application of the plasticized PVC of the adhesion coating (2) on to the support layer (1) at a temperature between the softening point and m. pt. of the support layer (1).
