Apparatus for the culture of pathogens has a dish (1) and a rotating lid (5), where the lid (5) has an opening (12) to take a seeding system (13) to act on the nutrient base (10), as a rake (13), comb or brush fitted into the lid opening (12), and the tines (17) of the rake or comb or the brush bristles are brought into contact with the nutrient base (10) when the lid (5) is fully closed. Apparatus for the culture of pathogens has a dish (1) and a rotating lid (5) to form a closed pathogen breeding system for cultivation, where the lid (5) has an opening (12) to take a seeding system (13) to act on the nutrient base (10), as a rake (13), comb or brush fitted into the lid opening (12), and the tines (17) of the rake or comb or the brush bristles are brought into contact with the nutrient base (10) when the lid (5) is fully closed. The rake (13), comb or brush is inserted into the lid opening (12) from the outside. Before insertion, the opening (12) in the dish lid (5) is covered by an outer adhesive film. The rake (13) has a base plate (19) with bonded tines (17), with dimensions to cover the edge of the opening (12) in the lid (5) when in place. The overlap of the base plate (19) is bonded to the lid (5) by an adhesive. The lid opening (12) and the base plate (19) have a rectangular cross section, with a larger size for the base plate (19) than the dimensions of the lid opening (12). The dish (1) and lid (5) have a rotation symmetry, and the rake (13), comb or brush has a radial alignment. The ends (18) of the tines (17) are shaped as seeding balls, hemispheres, points or eyelets. Each tine (17) is at an obtuse angle at the free ends (18), especially up to one-half of the tine length, so that the free ends (18) form an acute angle with the base (2) of the dish (1), in the direction of lid (5) rotation. A rod handle is fitted to the base plate (19) of the rake (13), on the opposite side to the tines (17), with a nominal fracture point (16) where the handle joins the base plate (19). The nutrient base (10), at the base (2) of the dish (1), can be divided into a number of zones by concentric walls around the rotary axis (4) of the dish. The dish (1) and its lid (5) are locked together by ratchet locks (7,8) or by a separate lock system. The lid (5) has an additional opening, plugged by a rubber cork.
