Gamma detector (4) is able to rotate within an arm (6) attached to supporting plate (5) by hinge (7,8). Plate (5) is able to rotate on crown around the tunnel with center (23). To operate in the arm mode with a low hospital bed (25) the plate is displaced from the vertical by 24 degrees and the hinge by 12 degrees. For tunnel operation the arm (6) is folded back and the plate rotated as required.
