PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively estimate the propagation path of a down link in a radio communication system where the frequency bands of up and down links are asymmetrical to each other. SOLUTION: The frequency of a total frequency band is divided so that the frequency bands of plural up and down links are alternately set, and a communication terminal transmits a known pilot symbol between devices at frequency band of every up link. Then a base station receives the pilot symbol and estimates a propagation path from the received power.
