PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and thin flexible display device rich in extendability and easy in enlarging a screen with simple structure, which hardly generates the distortion on an edge of a screen in the reproduction of a large solid angle video when enlarging the screen and has the high-speed responsiveness and various shapes including concave surfaces when necessary. SOLUTION: An optical fiber 1 with a core constituted of liquid is arranged in large numbers and a control signal line 2 intersecting this fiber and consisted of a piezoelectric element is arranged in large numbers to constitute the display device. An ultrasonic wave is generated by the piezoelectric element to the optical fiber 1 of a part selected by the control signal line 2 according to an image signal and air bubbles are generated in the core by cavitation by the ultrasonic wave. By the air bubble, a laser beam introduced in the core from one end or both ends of the optical fiber 1 is scattered and the light is taken out outside to display. |
