PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance water-proofing of a connector of a cable with a connector. SOLUTION: An insert (a contact retaining insulator) 17 with a contact hole 20 is housed and fixed in the front part of a cylindrical housing. A leading part 15 of a conductor 15 of a cable 14 is connected to a wire connection part 16a of a contact 16. A contact hole 20a on the connection part side of the insert 17 has a spot facing-like shape with the inside diameter D larger than the diameter d of the largest diameter part 16b. A sufficiently high water-proof effect is realized as the leading part 15 of the conductor 15 is tightly sealed with a filler 19 when the filler 19 penetrates into the depth of the contact hole 20a on the wire connection part side (to the depth of a cylindrical gap 20b) in the event of injection of the filler 19 for encapsulation into the connector housing. Even if, because of flaws in a sheath or an insulator, the rain water invades into the conductor 15 inside from an outer periphery of the cable, the water can certainly be prevented from causing leak reaching the contact 16 of the connector.
