<p>The present invention provides a method for obtaining dissolved selenium from a selenium suspension by adding a magnesium compound containing composition to the suspension, removing water from the resulting mixture and isolating the dissolved selenium. The dissolved selenium is added to a hot aqueous solution of a salt, such as a sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium or cloride salt, and then an iodine salt is added to the dissolved selenium and salt and the resulting composition is dried to produce a composition containing selenium, iodine and the salt. The combination of the iodine and selenium has therapeutic properties.</p> |
