The hook (16) can be permanently screwed onto the side wall of a container (70) and hangs from a long beam (8) of a luggage rack. The hook has a fixed arm (48) and a free arm (38) connected to form a rigid yoke. The free arm has a rear cut section (34) and on the opposite side in the fixed arm is a bolt forming part of a slider which can be vertically actuated for unlocking but pressed by a spring (42) into the locking position. The rear cut section is immediately in front of the hook base which then forms the contact with the long beam of the luggage rack
