摘要 The filter to separate oil traces and volatile organic compounds from compressed gases has a vessel forming a passage for the compressed gas, containing a layer of an oxidizing catalyst as the separating material. The oxidizing catalyst is a Hopcalit (RTM; moleculite filter) type of filter with MnO and CuO as the main components. A heater applies a direct or indirect heating effect on the layer. The catalyst layer contains at least one additional metal oxide of Mn, Cr, Co, V and Ag. The oxidizing catalyst is in pellet or granular form, with a grain size of 0.5-5.0 mm, applied to a carrier material and it can be as a porous sponge. The compressed gas, from a single- or multi-stage compressor, passes through at least one catalyst filter. The gas is compressed in a conventional piston or screw compressor, and the gas cleaning is at a separation temperature of 20-550[deg]C and preferably 100-250[deg]C and at working pressures of at least 1.5 bar. In a multi-stage compressor, the compressed gas passes through a filter between each compression stage. The compressed gas, free of oxygen, is passed through the filter together with an additional gas containing an oxidation agent. The filter is heated directly or indirectly to bring it to its working temperature. The compressed gas for cleaning is compressed air, and matter is separated to leave a residual content of oil or hydrocarbons of =0.003 mg/m3>.
