METHOD OF SEPARATION OF HYDROCARBON OILS FROM A WAXY FEEDSTOCK AND SEPARATION SYSTEM FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID METHOD

A method and system for separation of hydrocarbon oils from waxy feedstock comprising applying ultrasonic energy to a mixture of wax and solvent while crystallizing wax crystals by cooling. During cooling enough heat is removed to compensate for the heat associated with crystallization and the heat generated by the ultrasonic energy. The system comprises a dedicated crystallization unit (21) provided with at least one ultrasonic processor and conventional crystallization chambers (1) cooled by a cooling agent (IV). The chambers are divided into a plurality of hollow compartments that communicate. The cooling agent flows through the compartments. There are additional crystallization chambers (2) and filters (3, 4). The annular periphery of each compartment is concave to enable communication between regions of the chamber located between successive compartments. The feedstock flows through the regions between successive compartments.
