1,046,005. Ski bindings. H. MARKER. June 16, 1964 [June 18, 1963], No. 24945/64. Heading A6D. A safety ski binding comprises an adjustable tension cable, the ends 5, 6 of which are releasably held together by means of a spring-urged keeper plate 23 screwed to a yoke 1 adapted to abut against the heel of the skier's boot. The cable ends are provided with nipples, 7, 8 integral with abutment discs 9, 10, the cable 6 being permanently secured to the keeper plate by means of bolt 28 which is slidable relative to nipple 8, and the cable 5 being releasably connected to the keeper plate by means of an adjustable projection 25 engaging an aperture in the plate. Springs 11, 12 are located about the ends of the cables by means of discs 9, 10 and abutments 15, 16 on the yoke 1, the springs being compressed to release the cable 5 in the event of excess strain being exerted on the binding. The shoulder 15 presents a lead-in 18 for facilitating re-engagement of the cable 5 with the keeper plate 23, the latter being deflectable rearwardly against the action of rubber pad 22 to effect entry of the projection 25 into the aperture 26. |
