<p>There is disclosed a method for determining susceptibility of a human subject to a chronic inflammatory disease which method comprises screening for the presence or absence in the genome of the human subject of one or more polymorphic variants of the MMP-3 gene. Also disclosed is a method for determining susceptibility of a human subject to a chronic inflammatory disease which method comprises screening for the presence or absence in the genome of the human subject of one or more polymorphic variants of the MMP-3 gene and determining the genotype of the subject at one or more further polymorphic loci associated with the said chronic inflammatory disease.</p> |
