The separate handrail component (8) has an underside connector to join directly or indirectly to the baluster head (13). The connector consists of a security element (11) of plate (15) and anchor (16) and the security elements are set at one or more baluster intervals on the underside of the handrail and locate into baluster head security openings (12). The anchors should bend or be thickened and slide adjustably on the handrail underside (10) as against the plates (15) which lie in the handrail groove (20). The groove should be undercut and in rail form (24) integrated into the handrail underside (10). The groove (2) is in T form and the plates (15) fit into the T section width. The plates are rectangular and radiused at diagonally opposed ends. The underside groove (20) grasps the baluster head from below round the plates specified.
