The ignition pellet, especially to trigger a gas generator to inflate a vehicle airbag, has a pot-shaped housing section (6,7) with an end opening to hold an ignition element and a switching carrier (5). A further housing section (8) holds a connecting pin. The housing section (6,7) with the end opening is fitted into an opening (81) in the second housing section (8). The housing sections (6-8) are held together by a molded mass (11), cast into the opening (81) between the end zone of the first housing section (6,7) and the second housing section (8). A conductive adhesive is used of anisotropically conductive film (ACF) or a conductive Z-axis polymer bonding material in a number of layers forming a cushion with embedded gold-coated fine brass wires which project from the cushion by a few mu m, giving structured conductivities according pressure.
