The invention concerns a radiation detector comprising at least a semiconductor junction capable of generating hole-electron pairs under the action of the detected radiation and connected in photo-cell mode. The detector comprises means (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) for bringing and maintaining the junction at a substantially constant temperature (TA). The invention is more particularly applicable to the measurement of rates of gamma or X radiation capable of reaching high levels.
