A lenslet array (324) receives image of a light spot on retina of the eye. A sensor (300) receives aerial images from the lenslet array. A processor receives signals from the sensor corresponding to aerial images, and determines the wave aberrations from the signals. A camera aids in focusing the aerial images from the lenslet on the sensor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) Wavefront sensor focusing technique; (b) Accommodation range determining technique using wavefront sensor.
