AIRTIGHT CONTAINER FOR CARRYING DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it difficult that dust sticks to magnetic disk substrates D even when over ten cassettes B containing several tens of the disk substrates D are received in a carrying container by making the container airtight, to facilitate cleaning of contamination on the container, prevent static electricity from being charged and also make the container flawless and to eliminate need of a lid which has been conventionally put over the cassette by allowing a disk press 8 excellent in vibration-damping properties to press the magnetic disk substrates D in the cassette B. SOLUTION: The airtight container for carrying disks comprises a body vessel 1 and a lid vessel 2 formed by draw-machining an aluminum plate. A seal packing 7 is mounted on a joint between the body vessel 1 and the lid vessel 2 to make the carrying container airtight. The disk press 8 excellent in vibration-damping properties is placed on an internal surface of the lid vessel 2. Thus a lid can be prevented from being scraped to cerate dust as in a conventional case. In addition, the lid need not be removed each time the magnetic disk substrate D is removed from the cassette.
