PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewn product holder adopting a system of holding a sewn product on a 1st arm unit and a 2nd arm unit and easy to temporarily hold a sewn product and a sewing machine having the sewn product holder. SOLUTION: This sewing machine is such as to have the sewn product holder 2 equipped with a 1st arm unit 3R and a 2nd arm unit 3L, and the 1st arm unit 3R and/or the 2nd arm unit 3L has (have) the main arm 32 projected unidirectionally, a subarm 33 projected along the main arm 32, a pressure contact means 90 and a gap-reducing means 91; the pressure contact means 90 works in such a manner that part of the projected tip 33f side of the subarm 33 is put to pressure contact on the projected tip 32f side of the main arm 32 while forming a gap 92 between the base end 32r side of the main arm 32 and the base end 33r side of the subarm 33 to maintain a sewn product in a temporarily held condition, and the gap-reducing means 91 works in such a manner that the subarm 33 and the main arm 32 are brought to closer proximity to each other so as to reduce the gap 92 to hold the sewn product firmer as the proximity gets closer.
