PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve control quality by preventing occurrence of insufficient deceleration by surely providing deceleration when it is required. SOLUTION: In this brake control device, when carrying out a brake control in a condition where a master cylinder pressure is not produced, the pressure of a wheel cylinder WC is increased by supplying brake liquid from a pump 4 by driving a motor 8, under this condition, the pressure is reduced by permitting the brake liquid to escape to the master cylinder side by opening an outside gate valve 3, and the liquid pressure can be kept by stopping the drive of the motor 8 and by opening the outside gate valve 3. It has a feature that if a target deceleration is bigger than a designated value when controlling a brake, a big deceleration control continuously increasing the pressure until an actual deceleration reaches the target deceleration is carried out.
