PURPOSE: A hermetic compressor is provided to achieve an improved productivity of compressor by allowing the vibration isolation member to be easily installed and significantly reducing the time taken for such installation. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic compressor comprises a closed case(10) having an upper shell(11) and a lower shell(12); a motor unit(20) rotating by the power applied from an external source; a compressor unit(30) reciprocating in a linear fashion by the power transmitted from the motor unit, and compressing refrigerant; and a nearly disk-shaped vibration isolation member(40) arranged in the upper inner portion of the upper shell of the case, and which reduces mechanical noises generated during operation of the compressor. The vibration isolation member has, at the center thereof, a fixing hole(41) which receives and supports the stopper of the crank shaft to be attached to the upper shell, thus allowing the vibration isolation member to tightly contact the inner wall of the upper shell. The vibration isolation member further has a plurality of extended portions extended radially from the fixing hole.
