PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffusion reflector having directivity of the reflected light. SOLUTION: The diffusion reflector has an area with fine recesses and projections formed on the surface of the substrate and is controlled to show the reflectance-reflection angle curve having the minimum reflectance at the regular reflection angle of the substrate. Thus, bright display of a reflection type liquid crystal display device can be realized.
