PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner in which an air-cleaning unit is prevented from falling at the time of its fixing to a frame. SOLUTION: The air cleaning unit 7 is composed of an air blower and the air cleaning unit 7. The unit 7 comprises a case 7c which houses an indoor heat-exchanger installed in an air passage connecting inlets provided on the front and upper faces and an outlet provided on the front lower part, an ionizing part mounted detachably on a frame 6 on the upwind side of the indoor heat- exchanger and a dust collecting part. Protrusions 7d and locking claws 7e are provided respectively on both side of the case of the air-cleaning unit and the lower ends thereof. Side walls 6a are provided on both sides of the frame, guide grooves 6b are provided on the walls 6a in order to slide the protrusions to the wall, and a locking parts 6c are provided for locking the claws. In the air conditioner, a locking ribs projecting nearly horizontally to the front are provided on the lower ends of the guide grooves, thus the air cleaning unit can be prevented from falling at the time of its fixing to the frame.
