PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent having an excellent antistatic performance and heat resistance, exhibiting less bleeding out to the surface even when compounding the agent with a resin and not clouding its coating film when immersing the film in water. SOLUTION: This antistatic agent comprises a polymer containing recurring units expressed by the general formulae (I), (II) and (III) wherein, R1 is an alkyl, aryl or the like; R2 is an alkyl; R3 is a CO- or CONH-containing group, R4 and R6 are each H or methyl; (n) is 2-200 integer; (p) is >=1 integer; X is an ionic residue forming a salt; and Y is any of the groups [formulae (IV) to (VII)] (wherein, R7 expresses a mono-valent organic group)}.
