PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively and inexpensively manufacturing a diaryloxymethylbenzene compound in a sirmple process. SOLUTION: This method for manufacture of diaryloxymethylbenzene compound expressed by the following general formula [1] reacting a phenolic compound and a xylene dihalide, reacts the phenolic compound and the dihalide by dropping the dihalide to a mixed solution including the phenolic compound, alkali metal or the like and aqueous solution of alcohol and then separating obtained diaryloxymethylbenzene compound from the reaction liquid. (R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl or the like, m and n are each an integer).
