PURPOSE: A device and method for certifying a user is provided to reduce a mal-certification by using a voice certification and a face certification mixedly. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(10) comprises a mike(102), a camera(104), and a USB hub(108). A control unit(12) comprises a voice certifying unit(12a), a face certifying unit(12b), and a judging unit(13). The voice certifying unit(12a) comprises a voice detecting unit(124), a voice certifying unit(128), and a speaker detecting unit(130). The face certifying unit(12b) comprises a face detecting unit(126) and a face certifying unit(132). The output terminal of the control unit(12) is connected to an entrance and exit restricting member as a sliding door(14) being opened and closed in accordance with a result of a permission or non-permission.
