PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that lighting is put out in spite of an operation in which a user looks at a display, by accidentally pushing a release switch in operations other than photographing because the release switch of a camera is disposed at a position easily pushed. SOLUTION: The camera has an illuminating part to illuminate information relating to photographying displayed on a display part, and a status changing part to change the set state of the camera. When the release switch is operated and non-focusing to an object is suggested by a focusing part, it is regarded as during the operation of the status change part, and a lighting state is continued. Meanwhile, when focusing is suggested by the focusing part, the lighting is changed into a extinction state from the lighting state, and the measurement of luminance of the object by a photometric means is performed after the extinction. |
