PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily clean air in a car room with good timing, and to suppress uncomfortableness of an occupant by contaminated air in air flow in the car room. SOLUTION: This air cleaner for a vehicle comprises detecting means 201, control means 301, and cleaning means 401, and the vehicle has, on the front seat 3 side, an air conditioner 100 for forming air flow in the car room 2 with blowing air. The plurality of detecting means 201 and the plurality of cleaning means 401 are provided in different regions in the car room 2, the control means 301 control the cleaning means 401, 402 corresponding to detection signals A1, A2 based on the detection signals A1, A2 from respective regions. When the control means receive the detection signal A1 of predetermined one detecting means 201, they simultaneously operate the cleaning mean 402 in the other region. Thus, the air in the car room 2 can be speedily cleaned with good timing, and uncomfortableness of the occupant by the contaminated air in the air flow in the car room can be suppressed.
