PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging of fins at the downstream side of an exhaust flow. SOLUTION: A dimension FP2 between segments 112 at the exhaust exit side of an exhaust tube 110, which is bordered substantially at the center of the tube 110 with respect to its longitudinal direction, is rendered larger than a dimension FP1 between the segments 112 at the exhaust entrance side of the tube 110. Thus, the dimension of a pitch (dimension of the segment 112) of a fin 111 at the downstream side of the exhaust flow, where carbon occupies large percentage, becomes large (coarse), allowing an EGR gas to readily flow, and therefore carbon (soot) hardly attaches to the surface of the fin 111 (segment 112). Accordingly, the fin 111 at the downstream side of the exhaust flow can be prevented from being clogged, and hence the cooling capacity of an EGR cooler 100 can be prevented from being lowered. |
