PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric used for ink ribbons which can resist to employment for a long period, and an ink ribbon, by improving the print clear ness, printing durability and ink life. SOLUTION: This base fabric comprises polyamide multi-filament yarns having a sulfuric acid relative viscosity and amino-terminated groups in specific ranges, respectively, and further having a single filament fineness, a total fineness, the number of the filaments, a tensile strength and a breaking elongation in specific ranges, respectively, and is characterized by satisfying a weight, a thickness, a woven density ratio, a warp-weft total woven density, a tensile strength, a breaking elongation, a total cover factor, a crimp degree ratio, and a strength on a 10% stretching in specific ranges, respectively.
