PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tensioner which can prevent the degradation of the adjusting function of the belt tension over a long time. SOLUTION: A net-like body 8 formed of a soft metal different in material and hardness from an oscillation arm 4 and a support shaft 7d is embedded along an outer circumference of the support shaft 7d to support the oscillation arm 4 so that the outer circumferential surface of the net-like body is flush with the outer circumferential surface of the support shaft 7d.
