PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pickling method capable of completely removing lead present on the surface of a plumbing member composed of a copper alloy containing lead without changing the ratio among other metals forming the alloy. SOLUTION: A selective deleading method is performed by the conventional prickling for the plumbing member composed of the copper alloy containing lead and at the time of pickling, the treated and cleaned member is dipped into a bath containing a carboxylic acid of at least one kind selected from formic acid, acrylic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid before a finishing process.
