PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverted microscope capable of stably obtaining a good-quality observed image and excellent in operability. SOLUTION: A rear surface port 100 is provided at a position where a photographing optical path 17a is crossed with the rear surface of the frame 1 of the inverted microscope having an optical device 16 switching observing light transmitted through a sample 9 to the photographing optical path 17a or an observation optical path 17b, and a TV camera 102 picking up the observing light made incident through the optical path 17a is attached to the port 100.
