PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional shape measuring apparatus, capable of producing a distance image with high accuracy by simultaneously capturing a texture image and a light projection pattern image for distance measurement, in a stereoscopically imaging method. SOLUTION: A light projection pattern is irradiated with infrared rays, or the like, having wavelengths which are different from those of visible rays. The texture image with visible rays and a light projection pattern image with infrared rays, or the like, are captured simultaneously by a standard camera and a reference camera. A mismatching area is detected in a distance image obtained from the pattern images. By using the images captured simultaneously with infrared rays, a distant image having a partial area corresponding to the mismatching area is produced, and it is substituted for the mismatching area in the distance image based on the pattern images, thereby producing a more accurate distance image.
