PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition usable in the vulcanized state as a safety support intended to be mounted on a wheel rim within a tire. SOLUTION: The rubber composition which is usable in the vulcanized state as a safety support (1) intended to be mounted on a wheel rim within a tire comprises at least one diene elastomer, and further comprises (in terms of phr: pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. diene elastomer) 5-30 phrα-olefinic thermoplastic polymer particles having a melting point of >=150 deg.C and a mean size by weight of 30μm-500μm, >60 phr reinforcing filler, and 3-8 phr sulfur.
