PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection sensor for improved reliability in water-proof and contact of a pair of terminals even under a severe environment. SOLUTION: A rotation detection sensor 10 is provided where a rotation detection element 14 is assembled to a sensor main body 11 through a pair of terminals 12, and the rotation detection elements 14 and parts of the pair of terminals 12 except for each base end 12a are housed in a case 15 to cover the sensor 10 with the case 15. Each base end 12a of the pair of terminals 12 is allowed to protrude outside from a bottom surface 11d in a cylindrical hood 11c which is formed at the sensor main body 11. Here, each core wire 17a of a pair of lead wires 17 is connected to each base end 12a of the pair of terminals 12 exposed above the hood 11c, while each base end 12a of the pair of terminals 12 and 12 as well as each core wire 17a of the pair of lead wires 17 is allowed to be covered with a water-proof cap 18 which penetrates the pair of lead wires 17 to engages with the hood part 11c.
