PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a backing paper for polyvinyl chloride wall paper, having high dimensional stability even in heating and moisture absorption and excellent processing suitability of polyvinyl chloride paste. SOLUTION: Both sides of a paper base are coated or impregnated within the range of 2 wt.% to 25 wt.% based on the base paper of a polyethylene glycol.
