PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombustion deodorizing method for making innoxious and deodorizing carbonization gas containing environmental pollutants or noxious substances through recombustion, and a carbonization furnace utilizing the method. SOLUTION: When carbonization gas exhausted from a carbonization incinerator or a carbonization furnace 10 is supplied to a recombustion furnace 10 and recombusted, gas mixing and pressure reduction through suction are performed before the carbonization gas is fed into the recombustion furnace 10 by ejecting hot air from a hot air supply pipe 15 provided with an ejection opening 15a having inside diameter of 2 mm or above disposed in a carbonization gas supply passage 3. The carbonization gas is passed through a honeycomb structure 13 comprising 1-3 blocks 13b, each comprising a combination of 2-6 rows of heat resistant tubes having outside diameter of 25-150 mm, inside diameter of 20-140 mm and length of 50-200 mm, arranged while being spaced apart by the length of the block or longer before being fed back to the carbonization incinerator or the carbonization furnace 10. The carbonization furnace 10 employs such a recombustion deodorizing method.
