PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder pigment which is not harmful and has excellent weatherability, can widen color variation, can simply be micronized, can express light brightness without being processed into flake-like shapes, can remove the risk of ignition, and can simply be handled. SOLUTION: This powder pigment comprising silicon powder having a particle diameter of <=1,000μm. The surface of the silicon powder is subjected to an oxidation treatment, a nitridation treatment, or the like to form the thin film. The powder pigment gives various hues due to optical interference.
