USE OF PHENOL/DIENE RESIN AS ADHSION-PROMOTING AGENT OF RUBBER TO REINFORCING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a phenol/diene resin as an adhesion-promoting agent, not generating sooty smoke on vulcanizing a rubber, not forming aggregates and also improving the adhesion property of the rubber. SOLUTION: This phenol/diene resin obtained by condensing (A) an aromatic compound having at least 2 hydroxy groups with (B) a non-conjugated diene so as to become 0.7-1.75 molar ratio of (A) to (B) in the presence of an acid catalyst and having <=5 wt.% free aromatic compound content, is used as the adhesion-promoting agent of the rubber to a reinforcing material.
