PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility of a reflection type display. SOLUTION: A bright reflection type liquid crystal display device with good contrast and little reflection can be obtained by forming reflection enhancing films 4, 5 on the surface of a reflection type display glass. By forming the reflection enhancing films 4, 5 on the surfaces of transparent glass plates 1, 2, respectively, of a liquid crystal display device which does not use a polarizing plate or color filter and which uses a holographic polymer dispersion type liquid crystal(HPDLC), cholesteric liquid crystal, chiral nematic liquid crystal or a mixture liquid crystal 3 of a cholesteric liquid crystal and a chiral nematic liquid crystal, reflection on the glass surface can be suppressed without decreasing the incident light. Thus, the obtained device is bright and showing good visibility and high contrast with little reflection. |
