PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a new optically active ruthenium phosphine complex by which the same high yield of asymmetry is achieved as that obtained by using an asymmetrically activated optically pure catalyst. SOLUTION: This method for producing the optically active ruthenium phosphine complex represented by general formula (1), wherein, L is a bidentate ligand compound of a tertiary phosphine; X is a halogen; and * represents optical activity is characterized in that a ruthenium phosphine complex represented by the formulas RumXnLpAq or [RuX(D)(L)]X [wherein, X is a halogen; L is a bidentate ligand compound of a tertiary phosphine; A is triethylamine (Et3N) or the like; m, n, p and q are each an integer; and D is benzene or the like] is reacted with 1/2 equivalent of a specific optically active chiral diamine to deactivate only one of enantiomers, and further the resultant product is reacted with a specified optically active diamine derivative to activate the other enantiomer. |
