摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical axis adjusting jig for an optical waveguide and an optical fiber and an optical axis adjusting method which do not require advanced technical skill for measuring the dimensions of chips and aligns optical axes to be connected with a simple operation. SOLUTION: The optical axis adjusting jig 1 is formed with a first engaging member 2 engaged with the upper surface 10a on which the optical waveguide of an optical waveguide chip 10 is formed and a second engaging member 3 engaged with the upper surface 11a on which an optical fiber fixing groove of an optical fiber fixing chip 11 is formed, and linear grooves 5, 6 for fixing a guide bar 7 for positioning are formed in both respective engaging members 2, 3 and the chips 10, 11. The linear grooves 5, 6 are formed in a V shape in cross section in the direction orthogonal to the joined surface of both chips 10, 11, and the first and second engaging members 2, 3 are engaged with one optical device 16 connected by preliminarily aligning optical axes and are connected with bolts 13 to manufacture the optical axis adjusting jig 1.
