PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modifying agent necessary for acheving the improvement in the performances of curing acceleration, water resistance, heat resistance, toughness, adhesive property, chemical resistance, and so on, in the fields of coatings, adhesives, and so on. SOLUTION: This oligomer-containing polyglycidyl ether compound obtained by reacting 1 equivalent of the hydroxy groups of a polyhydroxy compound represented by general formula (1) with 0.03 to 1.0 equivalent of the epoxy groups of a polyglycidyl ether compound represented by general formula (2) to synthesize the oligomer-containing reaction product, and then glycidyl- etherifying the hydroxy groups in the reaction product with epichlorohydrin. The curable resin composition which contains the oligomer-containing polyglycidyl ether compound and is used in fields such as coatings, adhesives, and so on.
