PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display screen generating an image having excellent color purity and having long years for use. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display screen is provided with a liquid crystal layer, a first and a second parallel and transparent substrates provided on the both sides of the liquid crystal layer, a means for controlling a transmission state of the liquid crystal layer, a blue light luminous radiation source emitting maximum emission quantity in the range of wavelength of 400 nm<λ1<450 nm on the first substrate side and a first phosphor layer having at least one kind of phosphor and disposed on the second substrate.
