PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method for a polyarylene sulfide whereby the content of impurities, such as a halogenated alkali metal compound, in a polyarylene sulfide is decreased, and a polyarylene sulfide excellent in heat resistance can be obtained. SOLUTION: In this purification method, a polyarylene sulfide is cleaned with a mixture comprising an aprotic organic solvent and an alkyl halide compound or with a mixture comprising an aprotic organic solvent and a halogenated aromatic compound having an electron-attractive group. |
