PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality dichroic prism having excellent angle characteristics and to provide a projector and a system by using the dichroic prism. SOLUTION: In the dichroic prism which synthesize S-polarized blue and red light and P-polarized green light, the half value wavelength of the S- polarized light at 45 deg. incident angle to the dichroic film which reflects blue or red light is controlled to be near within a specified range to the half value wavelength of the S-polarized light at 45 deg. incident angle to the dichroic film which reflects red or blue light. The projector and the system are constituted by using the dichroic prism. |
