PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaporate refrigerant efficiently even when the outdoor air temperature is low. SOLUTION: Heating efficiency is enhanced by providing a heater 17 for heating refrigerant provided in refrigerant piping between an outboard heat exchanger 12 and a compressor 11, a unit 19 for bypassing refrigerant flowing through the outboard heat exchanger 12 to the heater 17, and a control section 21 for driving the unit 19 to bypass refrigerant and driving the heater 17 to heat the bypassed refrigerant at least when the outdoor air temperature is lower than a specified level so that the refrigerant can be evaporated efficiently even when the outdoor air temperature is low.
