PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector using a noncontact sensor capable of securing sufficient detection area. SOLUTION: This capacitance type detector is provided a first electrode 10, a second electrode 11 placed facing the first electrode 10, and a detection circuit 32 for detecting a change ΔC of capacitance between the first electrode 10 and the second electrode 11, between the first electrode 10 and its ground, and between the second electrode 11 and its ground. The detector is applicable for sorting of aluminum cans and specific materials, detection of the approach of a person, automatic opening/closing of an elevator door and application in other industrial fields. |
