PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment for a color filter and a method of preparing the pigment with which a red filter having high transparency is obtained, and to provide a color composition for a color filter and a color filter by using the above pigment. SOLUTION: The pigment for a color filter is prepared by dissolving a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment (A) in concentrated sulfuric acid and injecting the solution in water to precipitate a pigment, kneading a mixture containing the pigment, dye derivative (B), water-soluble inorganic salt (C) and water-soluble organic solvent (D) which does not substantially dissolve the water-soluble inorganic salt (C), and then removing the water-soluble inorganic salt (C) and water-soluble organic solvent (D). The method of preparing the pigment is also provided. The color composition for a color filter is prepared by dispersing the aforementioned pigment for a color filter in a transparent resin, and the color filter has pixels formed by using the color composition for a color filter. |
